My Inspiration for art comes from the beautiful irregular forms, lines, color and shapes in Nature. Natural light is fleeting but also the most effective in revealing my feelings about the subject matter inviting me to paint. The Process of Plein Air Painting is almost a necessity for my full expression in my art. Rarely do I paint directly from a Photo. But I will use a photo for reference and to strengthen my compositions.

The Dutch Masters, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gogh and later Cezanne, Monet, Rouault continue to influence my choice of subject matter, use of line, texture, color and light in both oils and watercolors. My latest works are heading into the suggestive, abstract impressions of my inspiration with color and light.
